Vorys was the first founding advisory law firm of the Stanford University Law School’s Legal Innovation through Frontier Technology (liftlab) program. The program was launched in the fall of 2025 and is dedicated to advancing AI within the practice of law. As a part of this initiative, Vorys attorneys work directly with faculty, researchers and technologists from Stanford Law School and the university’s computer science program on the development of new AI products, the evaluation of pricing models and the creation of career-development tools.
We celebrated our 50th anniversary in Washington, D.C. during October. The office, the firm’s second, opened its doors in 1975, more than 65 years after Vorys’ founding in Columbus, Ohio. This office’s success helped initiate the opening of the Cincinnati and Cleveland offices over the next decade. As Vorys’ strategic and manageable approach to growth has continued, the firm has grown to 10 offices across the United States, and in London and Berlin.
Vorys attorneys remained active in pro bono causes, including the Vorys Initiative for Business Empowerment, an innovative program offering legal counsel to businesses owned by underserved racial and ethnic minorities.
Vorys was one of two law firms selected by the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Death Penalty Representation Project as a 2025 Exceptional Service Award winner, recognizing our “exceptional commitment to excellence in capital defense.”
The firm participated in a broad spectrum of charitable initiatives, including providing sponsorships, endowing scholarships, fundraising for medical research and supporting local communities, including cleaning parks and reading at elementary schools.
